IBASE
Introduces World's First CompactPCI ETX Baseboard
TAIPEI, TAIWAN, February 10, 2003 - IBASE
Technology Inc., a pioneer in the design and manufacture of
Intel® Pentium® 4 processor-based single board computers,
has launched the world's first ETX baseboard using a CompactPCI
form factor.
The IP350 is 3U
CompactPCI baseboard for ETX (embedded technology extended)
CPU modules that features Gigabit LAN and Ultra160 SCSI functionalities.
Combined with IBASE existing ETX CPU modules based on Intel® mobile
processors, VIA Eden or Transmeta Crusoe processors, the IP350
platform instantly provides a range of CompactPCI solutions
to meet the most demanding mission-critical performance requirements,
while still offering competitive pricing.
Dual
Ethernet on board
The IP350 baseboard features a choice of having two Gigabit LAN using the the
Intel® 82540 controller or two 10/100Base-T LAN with the Intel® 82551
Faster Ethernet Controller. Both controllers have the same package size, same
number and pattern of pins and similar signal layout that allows for a flexible
Gigabit Ethernet or 10/100 Ethernet functionality on IP350. With two Gigabit
LAN, the 3U CompctPCI ETX platform would be capable of transmitting and receiving
data at 1000Mb/s, 100Mb/s, or 10Mb/s data rates. Two RJ45 connectors are on
board to support the dual Ethernets, while a third connector supports the LAN
function from the ETX CPU module.
Ultra160
SCSI
The IP350 baseboard support Ultra160 SCSI that achieves transfer rates of 160Mbyte/sec
and offers smooth transition from Ultra2 SCSI. The Ultra160 SCSI host controller
can support Ultra2 SCSI devices and allows mixing of Ultra160 and Ultra2 SCSI
devices on the same bus. Building on Ultra2 SCSI, Ultra160 SCSI adds extra
features such as double transition clocking, domain validation and cyclic redundancy
check. Ultra160 SCSI is ideally suited for high traffic environments that can
benefit from its added speed, management or both.
Spectrum
of Interfaces
IP350 comes with a Compact Flash socket for Type I cards and a PCI to PCI bridge
that provides for a standardized way to extend the number of PCI slots available
in the passive backplane system. Additional onboard standard interfaces include
LVDS panel and VGA CRT, two serial ports, two IDE channels, four USB ports,
one parallel port and combo connector for PS2 keyboard and mouse.
